G-2 Broken Up at Aurora

Stopped by Aurora airport yesterday and all I found of the Gulfstream 2 was a pile of parts. On my last visit in August the frame was still intact and up on its wheels. If you need this Biz Jet now is the time to get it before whats left ends up on Maxwell Street.

St. Patty's Day in New York City

Dont ask how it happened. We made a wrong turn at the Karolinka and ended up in NYC for the St. Patricks Day parade.

After spending the night at the Carter Hotel in Midtown we found a great spot almost in front of Saint Patrick's Cathederal for the start of the parade. The parade itself is different than Chicago, there are no commercial floats. Its all the police, fire department, military and schools. Also a little different is that there is no drinking on the parade route and no stupid drunks around at 10 in the morning.

After the parade the bars are all full, as you would expect. We kept to the "One Bar Rule" and worked our way down 2nd Street back to our haunts in Midtown. We ended up at Sardi's Bar that evening.

On our way to the parade I saw this old guy in a suit with his hair & eyebrows dyed green. This was before 10am. At 11pm we met up with him at Sardi's.

This old boy gets an invite to Chicago next year for South Side Irish.
