Jackets Required at the 21 Club

We are off to the 21 Club in New York City this week. Pinkies Up, no jeans, no sneakers and jackets required.

What else could you expect from a former speakeasy that has been visited by every US President since FDR except one. His daddy was there but this boy dont drink.

I am interested to see their collection of aircraft models hanging from the ceiling. The first one was a B.O.A.C. Flying Boat. Supposedly Howard Hughes saw the flying boat one day and the next day he came in with a model of a new TWA Connie, and the collection started from there.

You can check out their menu at the 21 Club Website. A cheeseburger costs $27.00 bucks, who knows the cost of a Miller Lite.

This is another place immortalized by Leroy Neiman. There are at least three paintings by Neiman. I dont suppose he painted Smiths Bar on 9th.

Its too bad that you can no longer fly with your lighter and you can no longer smoke in bars in New York. I would have loved to sit in the 21 Club lounge and light up a nice 50 cent cigar with my Dunhill.
